Regularly Change the gearbox oil

Replace worn lead screw bushes

Maintenance Tips

  • Grease the two (2) Drum Hub Supports by means of suitable industrial lubricating grease. (We suggest Penrite Hi Temp Grease or an equivalent).
  • Control the oil level of the gearbox. 
  • Use specific oil for Gear Box suitable for working temperatures and pressures.           
  • (We suggest Penrite – EP320 gear oil or an equivalent).
  • Grease the Disengagement Linkages by means of suitable industrial lubricating grease. (We suggest Penrite Hi Temp Grease or an equivalent).
  • Grease the Pinion Gear by means of suitable industrial lubricating grease. (We suggest Penrite Hi Temp Grease or an equivalent).
  • Lubricate the chain on the Lead Screw by means of spray oil specific for chains without O-ring’s.
  • Grease the Lead Screw of the Hose Guide by means of suitable industrial lubricating grease. (We suggest Penrite Hi Temp Grease or an equivalent).
  • Lubricate the Chain of the hydraulic Turntable by means of spray oil specific for chains without O-ring’s.
  • Grease the three (3) remote “Grease Points” by means of suitable industrial lubricating grease. (We suggest Penrite Hi Temp Grease or an equivalent).
  • Grease Turntable by means of grease gun and suitable industrial lubricating grease. (We suggest Penrite Hi Temp Grease or an equivalent).
  • Check tyre pressure on Irrigator tyres(should be 70 psi)
  • Grease bearings by means of suitable industrial lubricating grease. (We suggest Penrite Hi Temp Grease or an equivalent).
  • Check tyre pressure on Trolley tyres (should be 30 psi)
  • Replace Water Entry Seal, O’rings and Thrust Washer every twelve (12) months or as soon as leaks occur
  • Use silicon grease on outside of seal
  • Please note the circlip may also need replacing
  • Lead Screw Bushes need to be replaced every twelve (12) months or as soon as excessive wear occurs (i.e. when there is more than 25mm movement each way)
  • Oil should be completely changed at the start of each irrigation season or every twelve (12) months.
